Ace Media Player

Imagine having a lot of media files stored on your PC, for example video and audio files and also a huge DVD collection. What would be better than to play them all using a single software and not worrying about installing certain codecs and filters for playing certain types of media files? Finding the right player and codec for a certain file is a lengthy and difficult process and, at the end of it, you still may not be able to play the file. It's a simple media player that supports a wide range of media formats, far beyond the ones supported by Windows Media Player and other similar programs.

Installation shouldn't be a problem, as the setup process is intuitive and completes in very little time. Any version of Microsoft Windows can be used for running this app. The program takes up about 9 MB of hard disk space, which is much lower compared to other media players, allowing Ace Media Player to be installed on smaller hard disks.

There is not much to say about the interface. It's no eye candy and it doesn't support skins or themes. Instead, it concentrates on the functionality. This is the area where Ace Media Player exceeds, as it supports a wide range of audio and video formats. The user just needs to open the desired media files in order to play them. Ace Media Player includes a playlist in which different types of files can be added. It can also import complete playlists that were created using other players.

Media files can be played only once or can be set to repeat themselves. For every file, the program can display some information, like the codec used, the quality, the file size and the length. Video files can be played together with subtitles.

Once a playlist has been created, the user can save it, to reuse it later or to import it in another media player. Besides that, the program can be set to stay on top of other applications.
